We bought this system back in 2013, after a Kenmore system we had for only a few years became too expensive to use anymore. We paid way more for the Kenmore system, so I thought this one was too good to be true. But, we tried it out. It has been AMAZING! Our drinking water is so much better (our city is notorious for its nasty water), and the filters are very reasonably priced. Not only that, but the prices haven't noticeably changed over the last 6 years, a shocking contrast to Kenmore. Despite our terrible water, we can use the filters longer than 6 months if needed without sacrificing quality.And, to make this system a 10 star system... We JUST had our first problem this month; a tank that needed recharging (easy peasy) and a broken part. I wasn't able to find a replacement part online, mainly because I wasn't sure exactly what it was called (turns out it's called the automatic shut off valve, for which they do sell replacements). I contacted the company with pictures and a plea for help, and I received a quick (less than 1 business day) response not only telling me that they do sell one, but offering to ship one to me for free! (Oh, and the customer service rep is someone who clearly speaks English, with excellent spelling and grammar -- so refreshing!) This company is amazing, and I am so glad we took the chance 6 years ago and bought this system. I will keep buying replacement parts or even purchasing this exact system again, if needed. We couldn't be happier!

update: so I ran into a few small issues with it. I have to say, their customer service is PHENOMENAL. still keeping a high rating because of that, and would buy another filter from them because they back their product, which I appreciate greatly.initial review, I'll update after awhile after owning. my old 3 stage whirlpool filter broke (replacement part was $40 for a small piece of plastic - decided it was time to just get another unit altogether. after researching and price comparisons, this was the unit to getunboxing - well packaged. there was a lot of thought that went into making sure parts wouldn't get damaged, it was nice.installation - they could have made the paper directions a tad clearer, but it was still easy. you will need a 1/4" drill to install one of the hoses. I already had a hole in my sink for an RO faucet. it was nice that the first thing you see when unboxing is a label that tells you what to search for on YouTube (I'm more of a "show me how it's done" person instead of written directions, so it was good.the actual installation was a breeze.quality of parts - much better than my old filter. the hoses are quick connects, some professional plumbers out there might complain, but the hoses are fine. my old filter had the same type of connectors and were great for 8 years. the connectors have blue retainer clips, an extra precaution so the hoses don't slip out, I like that. I like how the bulkhead (where the filters screw into) decided to have all the separate subcomponents separate and connected with hoses - this makes future repairs easy (my old filter had an integrated bulkhead, everything was part of the thing, annoying when I had to troubleshoot). the filter housings are thick, I like that. though, it's easy for the o-ring to fall off, so be careful. I like that they have a separate bag labelled "spare parts" and have a good selection of things that wear out or get lost easy. the faucet is really nice. the faucet valve is MUCH higher quality than my last one.useage - the water tastes great. though, the flow is slower than my last filter. I'm not sure if it's because I went from 3 stage filter to 5 stage filter, or if I didn't get all the air out of the tank or whatnot. I contacted support to see what I should be expecting. 28oz takes about 16 seconds. I'd like to see it under 10s, but even if 16s is what I should expect, I'm still a very satisfied customer.the fact that it came with the brushed nickel finish when my faucet is chrome was a tad annoying, but my faucet is nearing it's end of life, so I'm probably going to just buy a faucet that matches the filter faucet.

I purchased the Ispring 5 stage RO on April 2018. My tap water TDS is ranging from 190's to 230's. After installing the Ispring 5 stage RO, my TDS went down to only 11, and my water really taste good. 5 months later after installation, my TDS suddenly went up to 60's. I decided to change the first 3 filters which is the stage 1, 2 and 3. After changing the filters, my TDS remained on the 60's. I contacted Josh in the 123filter.com and he sent me a stage 5 filter replacement and an automatic shut off valve. After installing the 2 new replacement parts, my TDS remained the same on the 60's. I again contacted Josh who was very patient and helpful, and he sent me a new RO membrane. After installing the new RO membrane, my water high TDS is resolved and is currently at 9. I am now enjoying again healthy and tasty drinking water. Thank you very much Josh for your help.

After watching a youtube video and scanning the instructions, I tackled the under-sink install. By far the hardest was the fastening of the faucet in the back of the sink - hard to reach and no tool will easily grab the nut that needs to be tightened to ensure a solid faucet on my old flimsy stainless steel sink. Once that was tight, I realized the paper instructions manual and the provided faucet hookup fittings didn't match, but it was quite logical how it worked. Later I found the instructions in the bag the faucet arrived in, so make sure you read everything before installing.Once you know how deep the plastic tubing needs to be inserted, the installation of the tubes is a breeze. Filters get unwrapped and installed in a few minutes. Then pay attention to the initial flushing instructions. Without the membrane tube connected, flush the pre-carbon filer stages. I almost got that one wrong. Then with everything connected and the tank turned off, flush the final carbon filter, which will definitely shed some black stuff for the first few cups. It then took about 2.5 hours for a full tank to flush that, after that another 2.5 hours to re-fill the tank and be in full operating mode. I kept checking track pressure and in my house it goes from 7.5 psi empty to around 40psi when full, which is when the shutoff valve kicks in and no more water is wasted. I had to re-tighten the tank valve as there was a tiny leak from the threads - turns out you really have to go down to the very bottom of the threads, seven with teflon tape on the threads.It really is a well thought out system and installed without needing any extra parts. I like the transparent housing for the sediment stage 1 filter, as it will show when it is time to be replaced.Performance:I bought a TDS meter to measure the level of filtration this unit provides. The water unfiltered out of my tap arrives at around 250ppm TDS (total dissolved solids). After filtration the meter reads 7ppm TDS. That is about equal to the bottled distilled water I compared it to. Taste is fine, like expensive bottled water that is highly filtered. I purposely avoided buying a 6 or 7 stage system, because I don't want to add minerals back in, because I don't want to clog up my coffee maker.Value:Very happy with the performance, and the price is right as well Comparing the different manufacturers offering strikingly similar filter systems, one can't stop wondering if these aren't all made in the same plant and then just labelled differently. This filtration system certainly doesn't appear like there were any shortcuts taken. A big of spare parts and good instructions round out a system I should have added to my house years ago. It would have saved me hundreds of dollars in bottled water purchases.

So I did a TON of research on not only the right kind of water to drink but the right kind of filter to use.I am a former journalist and have to research everything to the max. We were using a bottle service for a while until I found out that the bottles they were giving us of water had BPA in them...ugh...so we quickly canceled them and I began searching. I wanted not only clean and good tasting water but I wanted water without fluoride and pesticides. For me it was between the Isping and the APEC system. Both has great reviews and both would get the job done...I believed. I contacted both companies to ask them questions about the product. My biggest concern was about the container that the water would be held in...I didn't want the water to be sitting in plastic. This one is not...it is a food grade rubber...and unlike some reviews I have not tasted any strange rubber taste at all and we have been using this for a bout two months.For two months I have checked the PPM of the water at least once a week and it is NEVER gone over 7. I also like the taste of the water. I live in NJ and I would never drink the tap water...now we can. This is worth the money for sure...would recommend

I'm not easily impressed people but I was Impressed with this R.O. system. Arrived in 2 days. The carton was taped very neatly. I cut the tape, opened the carton and was impressed again. every part was carefully boxed & taped. as I opened each part every section was in zip bags. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Every phase went as expected. it took my wife & me about 3 hrs. the instruction said turn it on & check for leaks & described what to expect. sure enough we had leaks as we had not inserted water lines far enough into the connectors. easily fixed.. as instructed we ran about a bucket or two thru to clear it. then we got clear beautiful water. Our tap water starts at 750 ppm. after filtering it read 20 ppm. great for tea, ice anything. They included a bag of extra parts This Is my fourth R.O. system. I highly recommend this system and of coarse Amazon.

My water is directly from a deep well and has a good amount of sediment and metals in it. The way I have my system set up is with a whole house filter and a scale removal filter installed before the iSpring 5-Stage. I've had this installed for almost a year and it's been great. It completely filters everything bad out of my water and tastes amazing!! Another house who shares the same well as I do has a Culligan installed instead of iSpring, and I have to say hands down the iSpring water tastes 10 times better than the Culligan. The iSpring water also tastes better than the reverse osmosis water stations you can go to in town to buy water. The iSpring is great because there's no monthly fee, the filters are not expensive and are easy to replace, and anyone can install it. Installation was simple enough. The instruction manual is great, it goes into really in-depth detail. And there is also a terrific YouTube online that they created. Together those resources made this a great DIY project. I can't say I've run into any DIY products that combine a great instruction manual with a YouTube video, and iSpring did it brilliantly! I don't have any experience with water filtration and was able to install the whole system on my own. It took me a few hours and then I was done! The one issue I had was with the plastic spigot at the top of the tank. I was unable to install it so that it didn't leak. I ended up buying a metal one at the hardware store and using teflon tape. But I don't have much experience with installing spigots, so probably operator error on my part. So, no complaints there. And customer service... Terrific! Me being new to this whole filtration system, I've had a few questions. I've called the customer service number and mostly I've received a live person on the phone immediately. They've taken the time to answer some of my novice questions and have gone into detail until I really understood. It's been a great learning journey! And when I had an issue with my faucet leaking after a few months, they immediately replaced it under warranty. The USPS carrier had some trouble delivering it correctly, and the iSpring customer service stuck with it to see that I received the faucet with satisfaction, and then even followed up later to make sure I was still happy with it. Again, this is a great system and I think it would be silly to try any other system when the iSpring product and customer service is so terrific.

It was time to once again replace the filters in my old Reverse Osmosis unit. Amazon no longer carried the product and I ordered and quickly received an iSpring unit. Removing and replacing the kitchen products under the sink took the most time; removing and replacing the old R/O unit with the new one was relatively quick and easy. The tubing diameter was smaller in the new unit than the old one so I did have to make a trip to the hardware store to buy a "Tee" to match the line to in-sink my hot water and ice maker. iSpring included a "Tee" to help with one of the split lines I needed as well as other "extra parts". They included other fittings as well as the two wrenches. After getting everything back together and going through the start-up process, everything worked fine. I checked for leaks one hour, one day and one week after the installation and everything is "bone dry". iSpring has great videos on their website to guide the user through the process, as well as clearly-written documents. I recommend their R/O unit.

Update:Updating about 2 months after install. Still love this system, and as many people say, customer service is great. When testing, I let the water run about 30 seconds before testing and I am down to 9 ppm TDS. Impressive! Tap is 109 ppm. Water tastes great. Couple of more comments:Tank pressure: I tested the tank pressure and so far it is fine at about 8 psi. I get a pretty good flow from the RO faucet. It's not jet-fast, but I think that's typical.Water pressure: iSpring said that you need 45 psi pressure into the home for the system to operate properly. As tested with a Rain Bird gauge at two outside spigots, my pressure is about 43 psi, so I am 2 psi lower than the minimum. But I can't say I am noticing any problem. Anyway, I have no way to raise the pressure myself, other than installing a booster pump. I can't find any pressure regulator near the main supply. Maybe it's near the street (or non-existent?) But right now, I do not see the need for a pump. Maybe the tank would re-charge faster with higher water pressure, I'm not sure. But based on my usage so far, I have not run out of RO. I have always thought my overall water pressure was a bit low, but not horrible. Maybe 50 would be ideal. (Too high would be a problem also). I never tested the pressure before I got the RO system, so that was interesting. I am emptying and re-filling the tank once per month per recommendations.-------------I installed this system 3 days ago, and so far, I'm very happy with it. I added an alkaline filter since I wanted to add back some minerals (making it effectively an RCC7AK). As measured with a TDS meter, I am getting about an 80% to 85% reduction in TDS against the tap water. I did not do any comprehensive contaminant testing yet. iSpring advertises a 90% TDS reduction, but also notes on their FAQ that adding an alkaline filter will drive up the TDS a bit. Which is understandable.I tested big name spring water, which yielded 22 PPM. They report "34-70". I tested the tap water which yielded 155 ppm. The municipal water company reports 239 average. Make of that what you will. But I'm happy with my results on the RO, and water tastes fine.The installation was pretty smooth. A couple of notes: 1. The RO membrane housing cover was an absolute bear to get off. Even with the wrench. On the suggestion of iSpring I removed the housing completely and then I was able to get it off. 2. Tank: I only wrapped teflon about 5 turns on the tank threads, and got some leaking. I drained the tank, and re-wrapped the teflon using 15 turns. Problem solved. So when they say 15 turns, believe it.

Great product and great tasting filtration. I previously had a Brondell 3 stage water filter for which I was paying through the nose to replace the filters every six month. What I hated about the Brondell was it didn't affect the water's hardness (TDS with all its parts) one bit. My faucet water was around 270 PPM and Brondell would give me the same PPM or there abouts. Also once I installed the RO unit my TDS went down to 14 (not zero because of the coconut after filter for taste- Gotta love that taste). Also my electric kettles, instant pots and other utensils don't develop scales. You will see a sea change in your utensils.Installation took around 1 to 1.5 hours because my water valve was deep inside a cabinet. Else it will be much shorter. Some of the actual connections will be different from what the pictures and the youtube videos show. Here are my observations1) RO tank leaked initially because the valve wasn't tightened enough. I did this because I didn't know how tight it can go.2) The connection to the main body also dripped and I re-tightened to fix the issue3) I removed an on-sink soap dispenser and used that hole to install the faucet. Most of them are standard size and yours will be too. The only problem I had with the push in connectors for this was that the blue lock for the push-in connectors can't be put it owing to the fact this connection is in a very tight corner. You could get around this by making this connection outside the sink first with the tube in tact. Then lower the tube from the top and insert the nut for tightening the faucet from under through the tube.4) RO filter's wrapper lost its vacuum . Didn't matter. Also there was no instruction not to remove the sticker on the top. I just guessed and left it there. Turned out you are NOT SUPPOSED to remove the sticker.Pros:1) Great price. I bought this with tax for a bit above 190. Can't beat that2) price of replacement filters is cheap3) great efficiency of filtration (standard RO technology that isn't a rocket science)Cons:1) Chinese made filters2) Water waste ratio is higher than 3:1 that is advertised here. I emptied more buckets than I estimatedI returned the unit in order to avoid paying too much in water bill. Got the 7APK unit with electric pump and alkaline filter. Totally satisfied and am very glad now.
