My wife was telling me about how expensive alkaline water is, but how good it is for you. I saw there was an option to add a stage to our new RO system and after reading the reviews, I bought this filter and the Add-on Filter Kit. I was planning to only get around .5 to .8 increase in the pH level, but that was not the case. I thought my results were too high, so I drained the tank and let it fill again and received the same results. A picture says a 1000 words. I am adding a pic showing 6.7 pH, which was my old GE Profile RO system product. Next,a pic that shows 7.05 pH, which is the iSpring RO system without the alkaline filter. And finally, the results of the system with the alkaline filter after the tank was drained and filled again. Once again I got a 10+ pH reading. The water tastes great. I will post new pH results after a month or two of using this filter. Update... So, I have had this installed since October or 2017 and now in May of 2018, the pH is still alkaline in the 8.5 range. I bought a new filter and will give it one more month before I replace this one. Unbeatable price and quality! Still giving it five stars!!!

Great filter! It helps to add beneficial minerals back to my water and makes it taste better too!

It's a great add-on to my 5-stage RO system.

I went with this as the final filter to the reverse osmosis system I have. I use the water for drinking and cooking. Before this filter, I did have the pH of the water tested and it was at 6.8 which is technically on the acidic side. Ive had this for about a month now and the overall water quality does seem to be better. I will have to get the pH checked again to see if it came up or not. Id prefer the pH to be closer to 8.0

A bit complicated to install and set-up if you arent an advanced DIYer. It has some confusing behavior when you first start it up - expels a ton of waste water and takes a whole day to fill the tank for the first time. Contrary to the instructions, it took much longer to fill the tank the first time and the ratio of waste water / pure water must have been 20-to-1. However, after filling the tank the first few times the system seemed to settle in and its efficiency got in line with what is described in the documentation. I live in an area with really bad water quality. I have lived here for ten years and still could not swallow the tap water coming out of my faucet. This unit provides the most neutral tasting water I have ever put in my mouth. I havent tested the water yet but I can tell it is very pure.

According to the experts, the optimum TDS for brewing coffee / espresso is 150 ppm. RO water is in the 25 ppm, so I was looking for something to raise it. With the cartridge Im now at about 130. Be sure to install between the RO membrane and he storage tank, not the storage tank and the spigot.

Exactly what I needed. Used with the iSpring ACL1 Add-on Filter Kit with no problems.
