I added this single iSpring anti scale filter as an addition to a previously installed triple iSpring filter system. The previous purchase was a sediment, carbon, and iron/manganese triple filter system. This one now adds a poly phosphate inserter which really removes the scale and makes the water a lot softer. It is not actually a filter, but the cartridge (which is heavy) has poly phosphate beads that dissolve into the water. This is typical of city water systems everywhere and has been around for a long time. Easy to install just like the others, and works really well. The replacement cartridges for the anti scale are expensive, but should last a year. Probably much less expensive though than scale buildup damaging all your water appliances, hot water heater, and faucets. If water scaling is an issue, I would highly recommend this product.
