Got this unit for under our kitchen sink after installing a whole house filter and softener system. Previous to any system, we were unhappy with the taste of our city drinking water and, after testing, found it to have Trihalomethanes (THMs), calcium & magnesium and, of course, chlorine. The whole house carbon filter and softener helped but it adds sodium to the water. By adding the RO system under the kitchen sink we now refill glass drinking bottles with clean, tasteless, odorless water. We rarely buy drinking water in plastic bottles now and only use them for rare travel situations. We are getting excellent water right from our own water purification system I was going to have a plumber install this system for us but, after opening the box and starting on the basic assembly, found that I could do it all myself without running to the hardware store for anything. The instructions were very clear and I was able to complete the installation completely in about 50 minutes. I was afraid the quick-connectors; for the hoses would leak but there have been no leaks at all. I don't know yet how long the filters will last but am very happy with this unit and the volume & quality of drinking water it produces. I highly recommend it.
