It seems that everybody is concerned about the quality of water these days. We live in small town in Indiana and the water can be described as poor at best. The water exceeds 500 ppm set by the EPA. So I have to ask, where is the enforcement of the water quality standards? When i called the water company it is the old runaround you would expect. It was driving me and my family crazy. Hard Water would come out of the tap with particles floating around and settling at the bottom. So I purchased the I-Spring RCC7AK and we are so pleased with the water. I noticed one user that said was it was a high maintenance device. Well the thing has to work hard. Chlorine will destroy the RO filter, so what I did was install (2) really large pre-filters that deals directly with that issue and a water softener for the hard water part. I also installed a U-V light by Sterilight to purify the water. By the way if there is a "boil water" order issued, this eliminates the need to do so. Bad water is bad water and it takes time, energy and an economic investment. The first-pre-filter does most of the work and I noticed the filters in front of it rarely need to be replaced. I replace the first pre-filter about every 3 months and the other one, I will replace after a year of use. The RO system filters probably will be replaced in 5 years; they seem as good as the day I put them in. I have less than 20 ppm in the RO output. That number has been stable since the day I put it in. I will replace the re-mineralization filer once the PH drops under 7.5. Its at 8.4 and has been since I put the RO in my home.
