this two stage filter removes the chloramine smell and taste from Los Angeles county water. no need for manually filtering water to make coffee or cook food. had it professionally installed with copper piping, bypass valves, etc, by a plumber. $700 bucks. for a couple weeks there was a taste of metal solder, from the new pipes, but that's not the filter's fault and is now gone. had a problem with a bleeder valve leaking. unscrewed the blue canister and tightened with a screwdriver from the inside. that didn't seem to do anything, so i contacted product support and they promptly sent me a couple replacement valves. ended up not needing them--i mashed the valve up and down a few dozen times and checked it a couple days later and the slow drip had stopped. the system doesn't make city water taste like mountain spring water, but it's a HUGE improvement on how the water tasted before. no more chloramine smell! this is a great system for a reasonable price. two thumbs up!

The filter system is excellent, it's piece of mind knowing I am cooking, showering, etc with clean water. I was glad Nick from Ispring reached out to make sure all went well. Strong recommend.

I initially had a very minor issue and contacted Ispring directly. I was connected with the best serviceman you could ever want, Nick. Nick immediately sent out the replacement parts at no cost and stayed in touch until I was totally satisfied. The system works better than I expected. The water has a very clean taste and even showers are greatly improved. I did not deduct any stars due to the initial problem as Nick stood behind their product letting me know they have very few issues. It was worth staying with this product and I highly recommend it to those looking for an economical whole house water treatment system.

The system works great and I was able to install it myself. I've attached a picture of the sediment and carbon filters that came with the product (along with the new set I recently purchased). I didn't change them as often as I should since I was on city water and thought I could go 1 1/2 years. As you can see, these 5m filters still do an awesome job even though some folks indicate 5m doesn't really help. The product seemed a bit overpriced for what you get in terms of product. Regardless, I'm happy that I have a whole house filter system even if I'm on city water. I just need to change the filters much more often.

I bought this whole house filter 2 years ago after moving to a new house with HORRIBLE water. It was overly chlorinated leading to dried out skin and hair, terrible flavor of water. It was the worst. It was a bit tricky to find a plumber to install this filter system, but once I did it was worth the wait and expense, until the system sprang a leak one night. The housing on one of the filters cracked in the weirdest place. I could not find another housing. I contacted the manufacturer who sent out another housing right away at no charge to me. Talk about excellent customer service. They were very nice and very kind about the whole issue. The unit is a great price. Installation is a bear, but with the iSpring team here to back up your purchase, you should have great quality water for years to come.

Our municipal water supply has a strong smell of chlorine especially during the summer months. Bought this to remove chlorine and also some sediment. Item was packaged well and arrived in excellent condition. The filter housings are plastic but are very thick so I don’t believe longevity will be an issue. The filter also came with 2 push-to-connect ball valves which was an unexpected bonus as this was not mentioned in the description. There are many reviews that mention how sloppy the female threads are in the housing so instead of using my usual 2-3 wraps of teflon tape I used 7 wraps. This was STILL not enough as I had leaks on both sides. I ended up using 12 wraps of teflon tape and finally had no leaks. Have only used this for a few days but our water tastes great and has absolutely no smell of chlorine.

Unit seems well built. Don't have it long enough to review difference in water quality since we are on city water anyway but have some slight rust issues. Installed a spin down filter also. I recommend using Blue Monster thread tape since I had small leaks with the white tape. I called iSpring and talked to Don at don@ispring.com who was very helpful.

I am on a community well, that has a problem with iron binding bacteria, that are non toxic. Because of the discoloration of the water, and potential sediment buildup, I needed to install a whole house sediment filtration system. After entering the house and going through a back flow preventer, and a water pressure reducing valve, the water passes through this strainer, which is 50 microns, before entering the sediment filter, and then the carbon filter. Now the water entering the house is always clear, and chlorine bleach can be used in the laundry, without staining the laundry a rust color. Previously, the water often had the coloration of iced tea, and was causing difficulty with the water heater, appliances and just general appearance of the water

So my county has bad water ratings. Seeing that my kids drink the water, I want to make sure that the water was safe. Had a plumber install this and after the first 25 gallons, the water tastes great right out of the faucet. Added benefit is that I don't have the hard water stains on my shower doors. I'm sure my clothes are better, too. The installation appears very involved and not something I would tackle on my own. Leave it to the professionals.
