Have purchased many iSpring products, and this one does not disappoint. Love having no chlorine spewing out of my shower heads, dishwasher, etc. I've never done any plumbing before, but found the hookup to be not too hard with PVC pipe. The thing I like about iSpring the most is their customer service. Had an issue with one filter housing that they speedily took care of. Love a company that stands by their products!

Great filter. We have a full unfinished basement which made installation of the Triple Stage 15-GPM Carbon Block Whole House filter less complicated. There had been no drop in water pressure which I was worried about. There is a noticeable improvement in the smell and taste of our well water. I am hoping to eliminate the mineral staining in the commodes, tubs and sinks. Only time will tell on that. I’ll have to come back in a few months and add to my review if possible.

Ordered this when we decided to replace most of the supply line plumbing for the house, figured we could do everything at once and have a whole home filter. I followed the instructions for install, but ended up stripping the plastic housing for the water inlet and it leaked everywhere. Customer service was great and sent me a replacement, and this time I used a TON of teflon tape (like 20 wraps). I decided to use push-to-fit connections, it makes it easier to install the housing to existing pipes, but be super careful if you're going metal to plastic, which the housing is. Plastic fittings might make this easier, but the downside is you have to glue them before pressure testing and if you have a leak, you have to rip the whole thing out and start over. Overall, we are super satisfied with the product. Our water tastes better than ever, and the filters only need to be changed once a year for the amount that we use. The twist of housing is tricky to get off, would recommend getting one of the special wrenches for this or you will throw out a shoulder trying to twist it off by hand.

If you buy one of these or any similar unit, don't get the version which has the red pressure relief buttons above each canister. They're spring loaded and prone to leaking. All three on the unit I purchased (three cartridge unit) leaked and I couldn't get them to stop leaking. You don't need to have these to change cartridges. You just shut off the supply valve to the unit and open the faucets in the house to bleed pressure. Once pressure is relieved shut the other valve on the house side of the filter so pipes don't drain back into the unit when the cartridge bowl is removed. The way I fixed mine was by removing the Philips head screw from the underside of each red valve button (cartridge bowl removed). Taking the small rubber o-ring off each screw and discarding all the other parts (red cap, spring, and existing screw). I then got three sets of 6-32x 3/4" long fully threaded screws and 6-32 nuts (stainless steel) from H.D. I slid the rubber O-rings down the screws to the head then pushed each screw up from underneath thru the screw hole then tightened a nut from the top just tight enough for the o-ring to seal without crushing it. (slight resistance on the screwdriver) If it leaks take the bowl off and tighten a little more and repeat

I read about how most public water standards are well below what is ideal for drinking and cooking. I also had issues earlier this year with my tankless water heater failing with sediment. So, I purchased this filter system from Amazon along with the spin-down sediment filter and the UV filter. It seemed to be a reasonable investment to have cleaner water. I am not a plumber, but I am pretty handy so I took on installing this as a DIY job. After watching a couple youtube videos from Ispring on how to do the install, I got some cPVC pipe and shark-bite fittings in order to cut this system into the water line just after it enters my home in the basement. It is quite large, so make sure you have plenty of wall space. I did most of the assembly on a bench and then transferred it in sections to mount on the wall. It only took a few hours going slowly to make sure I did it properly. The housing is plastic, so metal fittings can crack the unit if you are not careful and overtighten them. The entire install seem to go fine until I turned the water on to check for leaks. The inlet and outlet connections leaked form the start. I tried wrenching the fittings in tighter, but that just made the leaks worse. After retrying to adjust the fittings, I ended up with a crossthreaded inlet. I called Ispring and they immediately sent me parts and advised me to go heavy on the teflon tape next time. After receiving the replacement parts, I took their advice and used 7-9 wraps of high quality teflon tape on the inlet and outlet fittings and I was able to clear up the leaks. It has been 4 weeks and it seems to be working well. I can already see a difference in the reduced amount of sediment in my toilets.

I ordered this for our off-grid cabin and also added a UV sterilizer to treat the water from our rainwater catchment system. The first attempt at install resulted in major leaks and I was an inch away from sending the whole thing back but Nick at iSpring Support came to the rescue.I had followed what looked to be an "official" install video on "that video site" and that seemed to be the root of my problems. The video says the machine-head is cast iron but it's not and also says to use 3 wraps of teflon tape on the fittings going into the machine-head - WRONG! Nick advised me that the machine-head is plastic and to use 15 wraps of teflon tape on the fittings. He also advised me that after installing the fitting into the machine-head it would likely leak if I removed and re-installed the fitting because the plastic would have expanded from the previous fitting installation. I also had a broken filter and two housings that leaked no matter what I tried. I was not happy...Nick was understanding, told me the correct way to install the fittings, and sent me a new machine-head, filter, and two filter housings!I finished re-installing everything yesterday and after following Nick's instructions I have no leaks. I am giving this a 4 star rating due to all of the aggravation with the leaks and such.

Everything is as advertised - quality. The one important piece of information that would have significantly simplified the installation is that the 1" female inlet and outlet on the head assembly are slightly larger than US standard 1" NPT. Using the generally accepted three or four wraps of Teflon tape, both inlet and outlet leaked under pressure. A call to iSpring representative Nick solved the dilemma. Use ten or twelve wraps. I used twelve wraps of standard Teflon tape, two 1/2" wraps side by side on the 1" male adapter threads along with pipe sealant paste and the installation is complete - no leaks. Thanks to Nick for knowledgeable and immediate assistance, I am a happy customer.

Purchased this unit last month. We have city water, but with a strong chemical taste. Makes terrible coffee and tea. We were trying to use our filtered fridge water for everything, including cooking - not the best solution. Installation of the ispring was not simple, but there are a few good videos on youtube to help. Two of the filters arrived broken from Amazon, but Nick at ispring customer service provided excellent support and had 2 new ones fedexed to me immediately. Great product - great service

I purchased this in late 2017 and absolutely love my whole house filter! It's great peace of mind knowing we have clean drinking water at all the taps. And my kitchen sink also has iSprings 6 stage reverse osmosis, so that water is ultra pure and tastes better than any water planet except for Mt Shasta water right from the spring. This system saved me so much money over what the plumbers and water companies want to charge for their products. The filters are very easy to change and inexpensive when you consider what some folks pay for bottled water...which by the way doesn't help the environment having a truck drive water to your house every week.Because it needs to have 1 inch copper piping retrofitted and shut offs and bypasses added, you definitely want to get it professionally installed by a licensed plumbing contractor. Again, even with that cost, it's a tremendous savings over the heavily advertised water systems that cost as much $6,000. or the expensive monthly contracts and you never own the equipment. The best part is the awesome customer service at iSpring...Thanks Nick! Yes they actually answer their phone and emails. That's why I'm happy to recommend this product to friends and clients.

We purchased this filter in Dec 2017. Our tab water has a lot of chlorine in it that one can taste but also smell. This filter does a great job of removing the chlorine it - water tastes great now. The 123filter.com website sells professional installation for $380 which I first thought is very high. We found a local plumber - including the trip to Lowes to get the correct pipes/fittings etc it took us about 3h to install it and costing about $270 for the plumber and $150 in supplies. The filter itself was damaged during shipment (one of the fittings between the filters was broken). Ispring immediately shipped a replacement but the plumber fixed it himself with a $0.49 fitting. Customer service from Ispring is great.
