 We recently purchased a house and quickly after moving in discovered the water was, well, not the greatest. Hard, high in iron and lots of sediment. After calls to repairmen to fix our refrigerator and dishwasher in the first weeks we came to the realization that something had to be done.So after lots of research we settled on the 2 stage whole house filter coupled with a water softener. I wanted more than just a sediment filter but I thought three stages was too much, especially if we had a water softener as well.We had the water softener folks do the installation so I cant speak to ease for the DIYer. Thats said, the difference has been night and day so far. Clear, drinkable, water now from every tap. We still have mild discoloration in the hot water but I am 99 percent sure that is because the previous owners never flushed the hot water heater (which of course is after the filter) and it is probably caked on the inside.We havent had to change the filters yet but based in what the installer told us it should be fairly simple. Turn a few valves, drain into a bucket and twist off the casing. I will update when the time comes to swap them out if I run into any issues. Right now though we are very happy with our choice!

I purchased this unit a couple of years ago and am very happy with it. It has worked all this time with only the filters needing changing as part of the scheduled maintenance. The quality of the water is great - no taste so that makes me happy as our tap water is ao horrible. I remember having no problems installing the unit as I am very handy doing plumbing and other remodeling. You do need to have some basic skills to understand and install this system, but the instructions are clear enough to work with(check their online DIY installation video) and they shipped all the items needed to properly install it. I would recommend this unit to anybody wanting safe water and would buy another if I owned another house. I was a good buy at a reasonable price.
