I love the core of the product the filter. The tank auto valve system doesn't work. I am replacing those components with my own superior solution.

I just received the RO system and it is premature to speak on its ability at this point. I do appreciate the careful manner in which it was packaged and the well organized plans for installation. Will write later to review product.

This system makes the water more paletable than distilled.

The old Sears 2-stage carbon water filter wasnt good enough. We were still buying bottled water, which taste better. It was time to move up to a RO - reverse osmosis water filtration system! The pros: I happened across a killer deal of $142.78 when I bought this in 2016! Pretty good customer product reviews. Excellent customer technical support! My questions were quickly answered via e-mail. Push together - quick connect fitting with 4-color tubing make the installation very easy! I had to purchase longer plastic tubing for our installation. The provided 10 lengths were too short. From the installation manual: Water pressure to the unit is no less than 40 psi. If its below 40 psi, you will need to add a booster pump. If the water pressure is greater than 80 psi, you will need to install a pressure regulator. Our water pressure was above 80 psi, so this added to the system cost. We didnt care for the provided brushed nickel finished faucet didnt match out fixtures, so I had to purchase a replacement, again adding to the system cost. Water is wasted to produce purified water. The ratio of brine - waste water to RO purified water is 2:1 to 3:1. Meaning 2 to 3 gallons of water is wasted to produce 1 gallon of purified water. Advertised - origin, China. Our installation Our previous Sears filtration system was installed in the garage, so that was the logical place to install this filter system upgrade. This was next to the water heater, cold water source & next to the washing machine, a place to run the brine -waste water line. The purified water storage tank was positioned on its side in our installation. It seemed like a waste to toss the old Sears 2-stage filter housing, so I decided to retain it with different filters... sediment prefilters. Stage 1 is 20 micron & stage 2 is 1o micron sediment filter. The output of this 2-stage filter connects to iSpring RO - reverse osmosis stage 1 5 micron sediment filter. To keep an eye on the system water pressure, I installed a water pressure gauge. After the water filtration system had been in operation awhile, I started to wonder when the brine - waste water was flowing. My concern was a failed ASOV failure which could allow constant waste water flow. To provide a visual indication of brine - waste water flow, I installed a flow meter. It didnt work as I envisioned, but a simple workaround was all it required to provide a visual indication when theres waste water flow. See my attached pictures. Closing remarks: Since this RO - reverse osmosis water filtration system was installed, there has been no need to but distilled or bottled drinking water. System startup, first TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) reading: RO - reverse osmosis water = 3 to 4 ppm tap - city water = 100 to 98 ppm.

Originally we had a 1 stage under sink filter installed for a few years and was OK with that. My friend recommended this system to me. She bought hers many years ago and when I got this one I noticed that there have been a few upgrades which is great! The water definitely tastes better than the 1 stage filter that was supposed to last 3 years. It does look more complex too. My husband installed this with no issues and it looks like changing the filters wouldnt be that hard either. The good thing is that the membrane is supposed to last a couple of years.
