In TN we have hard water. We had hard water stains all over the shower door glass, the inside of the dishwasher, and the glassware never seemed to be clean. Additionally, the calcium/ calcite was not being dissolved by cleaning with CLR. The faucets actually grew teeth out of the spout, and all this from a County wide water service, not a well. Looked into a "water softener" at big box home stores and researched the issue. Lots of money and time to add salt, sand etc. Plus, we bought the house with a water softener on it and our PSI at shower head was weak. Removed it and now good flow. So did not want to go that route again. Found this product. Installed it, and now no more hard water stains. A few things. Follow the instructions and wrap one wire the one way and the other the revers. Then, duct tape them to the pipe. I then put foam insulation around the whole pipe. Try and wrap the pipe just as it come into your home. We were both surprised at this product and have recommended it to friends and co-workers. Do not know that it makes our skin/ hair softer, makes us sleep better, or is the cure for the heartbreak of Psoriasis, but we no longer have the water spots and the glasses are cleaner. Enough said.
