Ive only had this meter a few days, but its already paid for itself. I began by testing it against pure laboratory-grade distilled water (0-PPM) and a saline solution (It was spot-on) and then checked my tap water, and the various suppliers of filtered water available locally. It allowed me to choose a supplier whose price per gallon is substantially less than what I had been paying, for water that is just as good. The automatic temperature compensation and factory calibration make this meter a cut above its competition, and I am confident that, should there be any problem down the road, I will be able to take care of it with the vendor in Georgia, far more easily than someone overseas.

Feels extremely cheap. But it did measure the PPMs of particulate in my homes water supply, as well as two other water supplies. And it didnt break during those three uses. And it didnt take any kind of calibration like some of the slightly cheaper models.

I bought this along with hardness strips and have been on a learning curve about TDS. It came in handy when the water line broke for the neighborhood and the boil water advisory was lifted. The reading was still over 500 ppm so we continued to use bottled water. This works as advertised but documentation is limited, thus the 4 star rating. But I went online and found what I needed with minimal fuss. My guess is the limited information is more for legal purposes.
