Do these filters soften water?

No. F3WGB32BKDS whole house water filter & descaler uses polyphosphate to prevent scale from forming and attaching to your pipes, sink, shower, dishwasher, and other household appliances. It can also coat the surface of your pipes to prevent them from corrosion. However, this water filter system does not remove calcium or magnesium so the hardness of your water will remain the same after filtration.
