About this item
- [Effectively Remove Contaminants] This iSpring RO system is designed to produce great-tasting water that is clean, pure, and healthy for drinking. It uses a 5-stage filtration process that removes up to 99% of over 1,000 harmful contaminants, including PFAS, chlorine, fluoride, lead (removes up to 98%), arsenic, asbestos, calcium, sodium, and more. The under sink water filter system also reduces the TDS rate by 80% to 90% or better, making it ideal for drinking. Additionally, it removes hard water minerals like calcium, and magnesium that leave white residue or scale.

After watching a youtube video and scanning the instructions, I tackled the under-sink install. By far the hardest was the fastening of the faucet in the back of the sink - hard to reach and no tool will easily grab the nut that needs to be tightened to ensure a solid faucet on my old flimsy stainless steel sink. Once that was tight, I realized the paper instructions manual and the provided faucet hookup fittings didn't match, but it was quite logical how it worked. Later I found the instructions in the bag the faucet arrived in, so make sure you read everything before installing.
Once you know how deep the plastic tubing needs to be inserted, the installation of the tubes is a breeze. Filters get unwrapped and installed in a few minutes. Then pay attention to the initial flushing instructions. Without the membrane tube connected, flush the pre-carbon filer stages. I almost got that one wrong. Then with everything connected and the tank turned off, flush the final carbon filter, which will definitely shed some black stuff for the first few cups. It then took about 2.5 hours for a full tank to flush that, after that another 2.5 hours to re-fill the tank and be in full operating mode. I kept checking track pressure and in my house it goes from 7.5 psi empty to around 40psi when full, which is when the shutoff valve kicks in and no more water is wasted. I had to re-tighten the tank valve as there was a tiny leak from the threads - turns out you really have to go down to the very bottom of the threads, seven with teflon tape on the threads.
It really is a well thought out system and installed without needing any extra parts. I like the transparent housing for the sediment stage 1 filter, as it will show when it is time to be replaced.
Performance:
I bought a TDS meter to measure the level of filtration this unit provides. The water unfiltered out of my tap arrives at around 250ppm TDS (total dissolved solids). After filtration the meter reads 7ppm TDS. That is about equal to the bottled distilled water I compared it to. Taste is fine, like expensive bottled water that is highly filtered. I purposely avoided buying a 6 or 7 stage system, because I don't want to add minerals back in, because I don't want to clog up my coffee maker.
Value:
Very happy with the performance, and the price is right as well Comparing the different manufacturers offering strikingly similar filter systems, one can't stop wondering if these aren't all made in the same plant and then just labelled differently. This filtration system certainly doesn't appear like there were any shortcuts taken. A big of spare parts and good instructions round out a system I should have added to my house years ago. It would have saved me hundreds of dollars in bottled water purchases.

Is the reverse osmosis system worth it?The Reverse Osmosis water filter can remove contaminants down to 0.0001 micron. This Reverse Osmosis water filter system removes up to 99% of over 1,000 contaminants, including vinyl chloride, chlorine, fluoride, lead (removes up to 98%), arsenic, asbestos, calcium, sodium and more. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Reverse Osmosis water systems have very high effectiveness in removing common chemical contaminants, virus (for example, Enteric, Hepatitis A, Norovirus, Rotavirus). How does Reverse Osmosis work?Reverse Osmosis is a process that reverses the water flow so that water can go from concentrated solution to the dilute solution by passing through a semi-permeable membrane. A Reverse Osmosis membrane has a pore size of approximately 0.0001 micron, which will remove up to 99% of the contaminants, including lead (removes up to 98%), fluoride, arsenic, asbestos, calcium, sodium, and more. How is reverse osmosis different from filtration?Filtration is a process in which particles from the water like dirt and sediment adhere to the surface or pores of the absorbent medium, typically polyester, polypropylene, Active Carbon, etc. But it cannot remove other contaminants like Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), including calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium, and others. The microfiltration filter has a pore size range from 0.05 to 5 microns. Reverse Osmosis is a water treatment process that reverses the flow of water by using pressure to push water through a partially permeable membrane to separate water molecules and unwanted contaminants. The Reverse Osmosis membrane typically has the pore size of approximately 0.0001 microns. How difficult is the installation? Can I install this RO system by myself or do I need a plumber?Yes, you just need a little basic plumbing knowledge. The RO water system is designed for do-it-yourself installation, and all necessary parts for installation are included. The default length of the 1/4'' tubing is 5 feet. If you need longer tubing, please do not hesitate to contact us at (678) 261-7611 M-F 9-5 EST or open a ticket here. 24/7. I bought this 5-stage Reverse Osmosis filtration system, and I want to add one alkaline filter, where can I find the box that can hold the alkaline filter to connect? You will need to buy ACL1 and FA15 (the alkaline filter). If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at (678) 261-7611 M-F 9-5 EST or open a ticket here. 24/7. Can the reverse osmosis water purifier be installed on a hard water line? The plumber says he would need to run a soft water line to the sink.As long as it is a cold water line only that is 3/8\" or 1/2\" that has a TDS of under 2,000 ppm, it will be okay. Does it come with two different sizes of cold water adapters or T adapters? The 1/2 inch feed water adapter doesn't fit my 3/4 inch connectors. We now supply a convertible feed water adapter that can be for 3/8\" and 1/2\". Does the 3.2 gallon storage tank need to be pressurized? No, the tank will be pressurized by this system since there is a blatter built-in. And it is pressurized at around 7-10 psi. Therefore, you don't need to pressurize it on your own. I need the modern chrome faucet instead of the brushed nickel, is that a possibility?Yes, it is possible. You can get your water tested at the main supply by a professional company or simply use a water pressure gauge. Can I connect multiple tanks to one under sink Reverse Osmosis system?Yes, you can add a second tank to go with this unit. What gauge / size are the water lines used for this RO filtration system? All of the tubings for this under sink RO are 1/4\". Why do my ice cubes come out clear on just the outside? The reverse osmosis unit sometimes will introduce some air into the system, which will make the ice cubes unclear. Does this under sink Reverse Osmosis filter require any power? No. This Reverse Osmosis system for the kitchen sink does not need any power to operate. However, if you have the water pressure lower than 45 psi, we recommend installing a pump that will need power. Will this RO purifier remove radon from our water?Yes, the GAC filter will take the radon out of the water. Does boiling water reduce TDS?Boiling water doesn't reduce the TDS in your tap water.
