Where do I install the ED2000 water descaler?Install where the main water line comes into the house before it splits to the water heater or other plumbing. If you need to install the ED2000 outdoors, make sure the location is waterproof and with no direct sunlight and heat. Can this be installed on any type of pipe? The ED2000 is compatible with all types of plumbing. How many feet of piping is the ED2000 water conditioner good for?50 feet. How much pipe length do you need for the coil?About two feet total, including the gap between the two color coil. What are the operating voltage and dimensions of the ED2000 magnetic water conditioner? The operating voltage is 110-120v. Dimensions measure 12w x 9.5d x 2.5h inches; each coil is 55” long. Is the ED2000 a water softener? The ED2000 is NOT a water softener and does not remove calcium or magnesium. It can help treat hardness in water, but it is not a softener. Which pipe gives best performance? Copper, steel, gi pipe or pvc pipe? The ED2000 will work on any pipe as long as it's a 1 inch pipe. Can you use cpvc?Yes, the ED2000 descaler/water conditioner can be used with PVC, PEX, or metal pipes. Does this have to be installed on a pipe?Yes; although it is recommended to mount the unit on the wall, the antenna should touch the pipe a minimum of 7 wraps per antenna. Is it okay for the red and blue coils to be wrapped close to each other?Yes. Is it ok if the red and blue wires are touching after installation? No, please do not allow the red and blue wires to come into contact after it is installed. Can I use it with a tankless water heater in place of a water softener?Yes, you can install the ED2000 ahead or before your tankless water heater to protect the water heater from scale buildup. Will this help deal with hard water? The ED2000 magnetic water descaler will treat water with hardness as high as 425 ppm or 25 grains. If water is very hard, you may want to add a water softener. Will the ED2000 reduce calcium and magnesium? It does not remove calcium and magnesium ions from the water; however, it will help with reducing scale buildup. Will the ED2000 reduce iron in water? The system does not have any impact on the iron content of the water. If your water has an iron content above .30 ppm, it is recommended to use an iron filter(like the WGB32BM whole house water filter or WCFM500K whole house iron water filter.) before the ED2000. Can it be installed on a vertical copper pipe?Yes, you can install it in any direction. How long is the electric plug cord?16 feet . I have well water. Do I need more than one ED2000 for my house? One ED2000 is sufficient enough for most homes. Will it work better if you hook up more than one whole house water descaler system in a row?Yes, you can install more than 1 unit. We normally recommend this if the pipe the system is being installed on is more than 2 inches in diameter. Can i use this with my ispring wsp-50sl spindown filter with siliphos?Yes, this unit can be used in conjunction with the WSP50SL. My Water inlet is outside house, no access to power , can I place the unit and run the wires 20 feet away, what options do I have to extend the wiresIn your case, we would recommend you installing our WDS150K saltless whole house descaler. If you run the system 20 feet away, there won't be enough wire to wrap around to have a dramatic effect on the water. We recommend installing the system no more than a couple feet away from the pipes. An extension cord perhaps is your best bet. We don't support modifying the system in any way, and doing so voids the warranty. If you had to extend the wires or replace them entirely with longer ones, you would do it at your own discretion. Because my water lines are in the foundation, is there another way to use it?Unfortunately, because this system requires some kind of pipe to be wrapped around, it wont work any other way. In your case, we eould recommend you installing our WDS150K saltless whole house descaler. Is there any danger of unit failure descaling a heavily built-up water heater? The hardness and iron levels can significantly impact the operation of ED2000. It’s extremely important to understand the hardness and mineral level of the water before installing a water conditioning system. Minerals and hardness of the water impacts the time required to change the characteristics of the lime scale. The best way to find out the mineral level and hardness in your water is to connect with your local health authority or to take help from a water testing service. High Iron level (insoluble and soluble) in water can deteriorate and can degrade the operation of ED2000’s electrical field, decreasing its efficiency on reducing scale. Under such circumstances it’s recommended to use an iron removal system to remove out the iron prior to using ED2000. If iron levels are above 0.3 ppm (parts per million) an iron removal system should always be used. For iron removal systems, please check out our WGB32BM whole house water filter or WCFM500K whole house iron water filter. The ED2000 is effective for treating water with hardness as high as 425 ppm or 25 grains. For water which is harder than this it is recommended to use a traditional water softener in addition to the ED2000. ED2000 should be mounted before the softener for best results. Does ED2000 Megnatic water descaler interfere with internet signal?ED2000 should be installed at least ten feet from any TV, radio or cordless telephone or any other electronic system to minimize possible interference. Should not be an issue with internet signal. Does it have any indication that it is not installed correctly? There's an observation table included in the user manual so you can track the ED2000's effectiveness. You can also check the pre-installation notes to make sure that the ED2000 is installed properly and to make sure it can handle the type of water you have. If you want to double check, please email us a photo of your installation and we can gauge whether or not it was installed correctly. If you have any questions or need additional assistance, please contact us at support@123filter.com or call us at (678) 261-7611. I rent one bedroom apartment, would I be able to use this water descaler system? The ED2000 needs to be installed in the main cold water line before the pipe enters the house. You'll also need a power source and the device must be well protected from the weather. If this is possible in your apartment, you can use the ED2000. Will ED2000 saltless whole house water conditioner remove build up that is already in the water heater?Yes! But it's a slow process. The limescales will loosen up after a few weeks or months. Is this a fire risk? (is it ok if it is near insulation or other construction materials?)Yes. Anything that uses electricity can be a fire risk especially when not installed properly. It would be best if you install it away from any combustible materials. What frequency does it work on? I have ham radio and don't want interfearance. The ED2000 works with square waves. It should be installed at least ten feet from any TV, radio or cordless telephone or any other electronic system to minimize possible interference. How long is the wire of this descaler? Can you replace it with a regular wire? This includes a fixed adapter that has a 16 feet chord from the device to the power outlet. If the question is for the coils, each coil (red and blue) is long enough to wrap at least 12 rounds on 3/4-inch pipe. I understand \"if iron is above 0.3 ppm an iron removal system should always be used.\" my iron level looks to be exactly 0.3ppm. am i okay to go?Yes! It should work but I would still suggest an iron reducing filter like the WGB32BM and WCFM500K to maximize the performance since you're almost above the limitations. I live in 1,700 sq foot home in san antonio, tx. can anyone tell me if one device will stop the scaling in my home? One ED2000 is sufficient enough for homes with water mains of 1 inch or less. For mains larger than 1\" but less than 1.5\", it is recommended to install two ED2000s side by side. The device can treat up to 50 feet of pipe distance. What is the difference between a water softener and a descaler?A water softener uses ion-exchange resin to remove magnesium and calcium while a water descaler doesn't add extra ions into water, nor will it remove any ions from water. In other words, installing a water descaler won't make your water softer. Do electronic water Descalers really work? The following timetable can be observed for performance evaluation of iSpring ED2000 electronic water descaler for the first 90 days. Day 1: On day 1, you can observe that the soap lathers more quickly and more effectively as the ED2000 action instantly begins to slacken the prevailing scale in the cold and hot water systems. After 1 week: Breaking down scale on water pipes, water heater elements (immersion rod heaters), and tanks, you may observe some tiny particles in the water coming from the hot water tap, although most of the broken down particles will be microscopic and can’t be observed by the naked eye. After 2 weeks: Loosening of scale on showerheads, faucets, kettles can be observed. Wiping plastic, ceramic, metal, and glass surfaces becomes much more easier. Soap and detergent required for bathing, cleaning, and laundering are significantly reduced. After 1 month: With the loosening of scale from the water heating system, it should take less time to heat the water. The amount of scale on pipes, faucets and showerheads should be significantly reduced. After 3 months: Disappearance of scale from the showerhead. The scaly crust in toilets is significantly reduced. No new crust should form. Depending upon the age of scaling and hardness of water, it may take up to 12 weeks for these effects to appear. Please note: 1) The ED2000 is NOT a water softener and does not REMOVE calcium or magnesium from the water. 2) High Iron level (insoluble and soluble) in water can deteriorate and degrade ED2000’s electrical field operation, decreasing its efficiency on reducing scale. Under such circumstances, it’s recommended to use an iron removal system to remove the iron before using ED2000. If iron levels are above 0.3 ppm (parts per million), an iron removal system should always be used. What is the best electronic water descaler?iSpring ED2000 whole house electronic water descaler. It uses a patented computer chip to emit an electromagnetic wave that matches the resonant wave frequencies in the water molecule clusters. This causes the clusters to break down into active twin molecules with a much larger surface area and better bonding capability with the hard mineral ions. The water molecules in their new state can pick up and carry the hard mineral ions, significantly reducing the likelihood that they form scales and adhere to pipe surfaces while allowing the existing scale to begin breaking down. Benefits No salt added. No maintenance is required. No plumbing modification is required. What does a whole house water descaler do?A whole house water descaler could prevent your pipe and appliances from scale, corrosion, and more. It can also reverse the already built-up scales on your water pipes, water heater elements, showerhead, etc. What is electromagnetic water conditioner? The ED2000 electromagnetic water conditioner uses a patented computer chip to emit an electromagnetic wave, matching the resonant wave frequencies in the water molecule clusters. This causes the clusters to break down into active twin-molecules with much larger surface area and better bonding capability with the hard mineral ions. The water molecules in their new state can pick up and carry the hard mineral ions, greatly reducing the likelihood that they adhere to pipe surfaces while allowing the existing scale to begin breaking down. |

It almost seems too good to be true. We moved into a new house to later find that the municipal water was very hard. Calcium deposits on the dishes, dishwasher, fixtures and shower glass. But the worst part is what it does to your hair. My family was fed up with feeling as if the shampoo never really got out of our hair. I did a ton of research and we don’t have the space for a typical water softener system. So I bought the iSpring ED2000 on Amazon and installed it on the incoming cold water supply under my house. The directions were very straight forward and the whole process was almost too easy. I purposely installed it in a location so I could peek through the crawl space access to make sure the lights are still flickering but that’s about as much maintenance as this thing needs. Amazing! Two weeks after installation, all of the symptoms described above were gone.

With no expectations of water quality improvement, I installed the ED 2000 per instructions in about an hour. I'm 74 and am done with the heavy bags of salt used in our previous home. Wife bugging me about soap build up on shower glass in current home where there was no softener system. Okay, to keep her from yapping, I told her that an Alternative system was available and I could install it myself. Three days after installation she comes out of shower and says "OMG, my hair feels like I just had a Keratin treatment." I asked "Is that good or bad?" She says, "They charge anywhere from $150 to $300 for that service at the hair dressers." Well, that's a pretty good payback and now I'm Mr. WONDERFUL. Jury still out on shower glass. Probably takes longer.

So far so good. The descaler has been installed for one month. The install was straight forward and easy.
As far as the performance:
I have this installed in a ranch with a pretty long run between the supply and the water heater (over 50 feet). I found a video from a spring that says the effectiveness of the ionization only lasts for about 50 feet. I wish this information was more clearly presented on Amazon and in their install guide.
That being said within a few days I felt like I noticed more particles being worked loose from the pipes and water heater. No drastic improvement yet but water scales do seem to be more of a powder deposit than a scale (my water is hard due almost entirely to calcium).
For the price and what it seems to do I think it is worth it. Do your research and check the run of your pipes first.

Placed order, received system within week (even though it was out of stock, they brought it in). Easy to install, instructions are very clear. It has an one year guarantee warranty. With this warranty we can see if it really works. We have added this is our other water system for descaling the water. Easy to fill out warranty card on line at website. Nick from iSpring responded within hours confirming our warranty was valid and if any problems contact them immediately. So far very happy with company.

So I'm a sceptic about this. I live in central Texas. Some of the hardest water in the country. I am very happy. My wife uses an electric kettle to make tea all the time. Before installing this, in only 1 day there would be a white calcium film covering the bottom of the kettle. After a couple days it's a complete layer that needs to be vinigered to be cleaned. I installed this thing and now it takes days, even a week to form the calcium film on the bottom of the kettle. But even more surprising is it doesn't build up. It even keeps self cleaning and knocking off parts of the film down to bare metal. Very cool.
My shower head constantly clogged up and I would use my nails to unclog weekly. Since I installed this over a month ago, not a single hole has clogged up.
Best of all, no salt. I'm going to add more wire to see if I can strengthen its affects.

Installed 4 days ago and already noticing small changes in my water. I noticed mine and my daughters hair feels completely different(different in a good way) Our hair feels smoother and less tangles. We did not change our shampoo or conditioner or anything else besides installing the ED2000. I have not noticed descaling at this point but I am sure it will take the approx. recommended time for the process to be as efficient as possible. I will add to the review when it has been installed longer and evaluate the stars at that time. I am Giving this 4 stars only because I have only had it installed for a few days and haven't had enough time to evaluate the final outcome.

Day one: Dish washing liquid foams (with hard water, this was unexpected). Week one: what looks like mineral buildup, wipes right off. Week two, the deposits on the inside of my humidifier are falling off! Deposits on the inside of my kitchen faucett are breaking off. It's fun to see the positive changes...looking forward to many more! It works better than I had ever anticipated!

Nick from iSpring asked for a review. Installed one day ago so cannot comment whether works.
Pro: Excellent feel, fit and finish good. Easy to install. Clear directions but do not mention only effective (according to video) within 50 feet. Or whether effective after water exits hot water heater.
Con: Sequenced flashing lights make on wonder if encouraging a placebo effect, ie, “Hey, amazing display, must be doing something.” No way immediately tell if effective, TDS readings do not change. Three star rating simply means we do not know.
In six months we’ll be able to judge if less calcium scale forming.

I have been cleaning water spots on my sinks and taps for almost twenty years in CA because I did not know that this product exists!! Just over three weeks ago while visiting family up north, I commented on how spotless their sinks and hardware are, this product became conversation. They had used a salt softener before but felt it was wasteful, due to flushing, etc. and after much research came to use the Eddy 2000. Almost immediately, I wanted to order that, but since it wasn't available, I opted for this brand. The concept is similar, and I have to say, this one is about $50 cheaper. So almost two weeks in, I have to write this review so this company stays in business and I can buy more when I get another house!!! I love it so much, it does what it says. Now my sinks are spotless without obsessive wiping and cleaning. I like it also that it does not filter out all the necessary elements that is in water as I do not want distilled water. It is super easy to install, once you figure out the flow of your water.
Note: I have copper pipes but be careful if you have old and/lead pipes, this is not for you.
