What is a TDS Meter

What is Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in Water

A TDS Meter delivers accurate TDS readings informing you of the concentration of completely dissolved particles in the water. Dissolved particles refers to salts, minerals, metals, and other organic matter. The quality of water is affected by many factors including the region you live in, the quality of your plumbing, and the local water source. In order to understand the quality of your water, it is important to use a TDS meter to determine if a water filtration system is needed in your home. Simply place the TDS measurement sensor into a water sample and you will instantly see the ppm (parts per million) displayed on the meter.

The Rule of Thumb:

A good rule of thumb when reading a TDS meter is the lower the level of total dissolved particles there are in the water, the purer the water is. Most tap water has an average ppm of 200 to 400. Water with a ppm within the range of 0-50 is an ideal level of ppm for drinking water. A reverse osmosis water filtration system is able to lower the ppm down to the safest range.

iSpring Reverse Osmosis Multi-stage Systems:

iSpring 5-Stage Under-Sink RCC7 Reverse Osmosis System removes up to 99% of over 1,000 contaminants and is guaranteed to provide you and your family with ideal drinking water. The innovative iSpring RO technology includes one 0.0001 micron TFC membrane which reduces hardness, heavy metals, toxins, bad tastes, odors, THMs, organics chemicals, hazardous chemicals, pesticides, and much more from tap water!
