Does this system soften water?
No. The WGB31B-KDS whole house water filter prevents scale buildup and protects pipes and appliances from corrosion. It does not remove calcium or magnesium, so water hardness remains unchanged. For softening, see iSpring WCS45KG.
What contaminants can this system remove?
Turbidity, visible particulate matter, sand, silt, dirt, rust, chlorine, taste, odor, THMs, VOCs, chemicals, herbicides, heavy metals like lead and mercury, hydrogen sulfide, scale, and corrosion.
Can I install this system outdoors?
Install indoors in a well-ventilated area, shielded from wind and rain, away from direct sunlight and heat. Consider water leakage protection. For outdoor installation, ensure insulation for frost, sun, and waterproofing for both unit and pipes.
Can I use this system if my water flow is from left to right?
Yes, you can. However, please note that the inlet/outlet marking on the system is fixed, so you will need to flip the machine head to accommodate this setup. To do this, simply unscrew the screws on the machine head and flip it.

The iSpring WGB31B-KDS 3-stage whole house water filter system provides reliable, high-capacity filtration for homes using city or well water. Its space-saving 10” x 4.5” cartridges are ideal for apartments, smaller homes, or tight installation areas, while still delivering whole home protection. The system features a polyphosphate anti-scale filter to reduce scale and corrosion, a GAC KDF filter to remove chlorine, chloramine, lead, mercury, and hydrogen sulfide, and a carbon block filter that improves taste and reduces odors—providing consistent protection at every water outlet. This whole house water filtration system supports up to 15 GPM flow and treats up to 80,000 gallons of water or lasts up to 12 months, depending on usage. It retains healthy minerals and does not reduce TDS. For complete purification, pair with an iSpring Reverse Osmosis system.

Works Well

I purchased this filter system about 2 weeks ago and it seems to work as well as the 20 inch tall cartridge system. I purchased the 20 inch tall 3 stage system 2 years ago and one of the cartridges broke off because of the extreme weight of the wet filter along with the water in the system. I would highly recommend the 10 inch tall system for this reason.
